Solid Wood Air Stool – ELEMENTOS Series

The ELEMENTOS Air stool by Daniel Couttolenc is a sculptural solid wood stool that defies expectation: its largest mass appears suspended, the heaviest form held as though supported by something that cannot be seen. Air is detachment — it exists in the realm of ideas rather than matter. That quality is precisely what this piece communicates, and the golden ratio is the quiet logic that makes the impossibility feel inevitable.

ELEMENTOS emerges from a single question: what if the four classical elements — Earth, Water, Fire, Air — were translated not into image but into form? Each stool in the family is shaped by that element’s essential character, then proportioned according to the golden ratio, so that the geometry itself carries the vibration. The result is a set of sculptural solid wood stools that are related in logic but distinct in presence. Handcrafted in Mexico in solid wood, each piece reveals the grain with particular clarity — texture that reads differently in morning and evening light.

The natural finish celebrates the wood’s warmth and organic variation. ELEMENTOS Air suits spaces where a sense of lightness and paradox is welcome. It functions as a stool or a sculptural object and is the most otherworldly piece in the ELEMENTOS family. Also available in a black finish; customisation is available upon request.
